How We Got Here

What started as a passion for self-sufficiency has grown into an amazing experience of making custom home decor. 

After buying our first home, we quickly realized how much goes into maintenance and how many “things” we wanted. It all started with the desire for a garden. We LOVE food, well not just any food, GOOD food. When we were living in an apartment, we grew some herbs, but really wanted to expand into being able to make a meal directly from our backyard.

There was a problem though. We have two dogs that are a little too curious. So, we set out to build an enclosure to keep them from eating everything…or from just rolling around in a bunch of dirt. Next thing we knew, we were hooked and constantly looking for the next thing to make.

Slowly, our garage evolved into our space to make and create items for fun. We added a tool here and there as needed for whatever our next project required. Little by little, a woodshop began to emerge, and we started wondering if people would like some of the things that we had made. We turned to Etsy as a way to “test the water” and were pleasantly surprised! In just a few months, we had shipped out more than 200 orders to over half of the US and 2 additional continents!

Like anyone else, the desire for instant gratification is certainly there, but the joy that comes from growing what you eat, eating at the table you’ve built, and holding objects in your hand that you’ve created has brought us immense satisfaction.
