This board is made and ready to ship. The board pictured is the one you will receive. It is made from locally sourced American Cherry. Our boards are sanded to 400 grit and then finished with a food-safe cutting board oil and Mr. & Mrs. Woodshop’s Board Butter (a combination of organic, locally sourced beeswax and food grade mineral oil) to properly moisturize the wood and create a wonderfully smooth feel. There are no dies or stains to create this gorgeous piece. All of our boards are designed for form and function, so if you’re wanting a “presentation side”, use one side for prep and the other for showing off!

There have been numerous studies documenting the safety of wood cutting boards and chopping blocks and their resistance to bacteria growth. Scientists at the University of Wisconsin found that 99.9% of bacteria (E. Coli, Salmonella, and Listeria) placed on a wooden chopping board had died out completely within minutes. This is due to the wood fibers being able to “heal” themselves trapping the bacteria and killing off the bacteria. We take your safety a step further though. All of our boards receive 2 layers of additional protection by using food-grade mineral oil and Mr. and Mrs. Woodshop’s handcrafted Board Butter.
